Privacy
Central Peninsula Hospital and all its facilities are committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your health information. We are required to notify you of our use of, and privacy practices regarding, your medical information. We have prepared a Notice Of Privacy Practice that is posted in registration areas, and is offered to anyone at the time of registration for service.
This Notice of Privacy Practice describes:
- Situations when your information can be used/shared with or without your consent,
- Your rights under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and
- How to file a complaint if you feel your information has been disclosed inappropriately.
Please be aware that federal privacy laws may prohibit us from releasing specific information about you, even to family members, without your consent.
Patient or family concerns should be brought to our attention, while the patient is still in the hospital, by contacting the unit manager or the Privacy Officer.
