Accreditation 

Central Peninsula Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission. That means that we voluntarily submit to evaluations of our compliance with nationwide hospital standards on a continuing basis. Joint Commission accreditation is your assurance that Central Peninsula Hospital practices continuous quality monitoring to provide you with quality health care.

Ownership


Central Peninsula Hospital is a borough-owned, non-profit facility operated by a corporation, Central Peninsula General Hospital, Inc. (CPGH,Inc.) located in Soldotna, Alaska. The Hospital is administered by CPGH, Inc. and operates through a Lease Agreement with the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

The Hospital is a non-profit entity, organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The not-for-profit status ensures that all financial resources, after operating expenses are paid, are committed to improving technology, patient services, and the facility.

Governance

A eleven-member volunteer Board of Directors, comprised of a cross-section of professional, business, and community-active leaders, govern the hospital.  Board Members must be at least 19 years old and be a resident of the Central Kenai Peninsula Borough Hospital Service Area of the Kenai Peninsula Borough. Public Board meetings are held on the last Thursday of every month at 5:30pm in the Denali Conference Room at Central Peninsula Hospital.  The meetings are open to the public.
