About

Bio

Dr. Michelle Moyer, DO, MSW began her academic journey with a degree in International Politics from Brigham Young University, followed by a Master of Social Work from the University of Utah. She then completed medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and her Psychiatry residency at the Texas Institute of Graduate Medical Education in San Antonio. As a member of the American Psychiatry Association, Dr. Moyer is skilled in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, psychosis, and ADHD. She has extensive experience in managing treatment-resistant depression and is proficient in innovative, evidence-based therapies for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato (esketamine nasal spray). Dr. Moyer is dedicated to providing these treatments in a compassionate and supportive environment, ensuring a positive experience for her patients. Many years ago, Dr. Moyer had the good fortune of working in Alaska, where the vast opportunities to hike, explore, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors left an unforgettable impression. When it came time to choose a future home for her family, those cherished memories played a significant role in her decision to return to the 49th state. Specifically, the Kenai Peninsula appealed to Dr. Moyer because of its resemblance to the rural community in Texas where she grew up. She remembers the challenges and hardships faced by her hometown and feels drawn to the sense of family that a smaller community offers. Dr. Moyer and her family chose the Kenai Peninsula because she believes she can make a meaningful difference in helping others overcome similar challenges. They are excited to raise their children in a close-knit, rural community where the residents feel like family. Outside of work, Dr. Moyer enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, skiing, hiking, fishing, and exploring everything the great state of Alaska has to offer.
