Board certified General Surgeon David King, M.D., FACS joined the medical staff at Central Peninsula Hospital in December 2008. Dr. King joined Central Peninsula Surgical Associates in June 2019 following his long and successful solo career as an independent general surgeon. Dr. King grew up in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area and obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga School of Engineering. For approximately five years following completion of his undergraduate education, he held an engineering position at a Stuart Draft, Virginia manufacturing facility. Subsequently, he enrolled in the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in southern California. Next, he trained in general surgery at Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. He has been in private practice in Maine and Tennessee before moving to Alaska. He enjoys visiting with family, traveling, motorcycling, snow machining and fishing in his leisure time.
