Evening by the River, hosted by Central Peninsula Health Foundation in support of Central Peninsula Hospital, is more than just a gathering—it’s a celebration of community and a shared commitment to exceptional healthcare. Each year, we come together to ensure our hospital has the resources needed to provide the highest level of care to every patient who walks through our doors.
This year, we are fundraising for four critical projects that will directly improve patient care:
• An MRI Video System to reduce anxiety and enhance the patient experience.
• A PhysioGait 360 Dynamic Unweighting System to help patients regain mobility.
• Transcutaneous Bilirubin Meters to provide newborns with the healthiest start.
• An MRI-Safe Transport Ventilator to ensure the safest care for critically ill patients.
These projects are more than just equipment—they’re life-changing advancements that bring comfort, healing, and hope to our patients. With your support, we can reduce anxiety for those undergoing MRI scans, help patients regain mobility and independence, give newborns the healthiest start, and ensure critically ill patients receive the safest care possible.
Your generosity makes all the difference. Whether through corporate sponsorship or individual giving, you have the power to bring these vital resources to our hospital and community. Together, we can transform care and change lives.
Bringing Comfort to MRI Patients with a Video System
An MRI scan can be an overwhelming experience—claustrophobia, loud noises, and the stress of the procedure itself can make it difficult for patients to remain still, leading to discomfort and potential scan interruptions.
To help ease anxiety and improve the overall experience, we are fundraising for an advanced MRI Video System for both of our MRI suites. This innovative technology from MRIaudio allows patients to watch calming videos during their scan, creating a more relaxing environment while enhancing scan efficiency.
For children, individuals with anxiety, or those requiring frequent imaging, this system can make all the difference—turning a stressful procedure into one that feels far more manageable.
With your support, we can provide a more comfortable MRI experience for every patient at Central Peninsula Hospital. Together, we can make a difference in how care is delivered.
Helping Patients Regain Strength and Independence
Recovery is more than healing—it’s about rebuilding strength, confidence, and the ability to move freely again. For many patients, regaining mobility after an injury, illness, or neurological event can be an uphill battle.
To support their journey, we are raising funds for the PhysioGait 360 Dynamic Unweighting System—a state-of-the-art rehabilitation tool that provides safe, dynamic support as patients relearn to walk, improve balance, and build confidence. Unlike traditional rehab methods, this system adapts to each patient’s needs, reducing the risk of falls and making therapy more effective.
From stroke survivors to those recovering from spinal cord injuries or surgery, this technology offers life-changing benefits—helping patients take meaningful steps toward mobility, independence, and a better quality of life.
Your generosity will bring this breakthrough rehabilitation system to our hospital, empowering patients on their road to recovery. Together, we can help them move forward—one step at a time.
Ensuring Safe, Life-Saving Care with an MRI-Safe Transport Ventilator
At Central Peninsula Hospital, we are committed to providing the highest level of care for every patient—especially those in critical condition. For patients who rely on a ventilator to breathe, uninterrupted respiratory support is essential. However, transporting these patients safely throughout the hospital, including to the MRI suite, presents a significant challenge.
Currently, we do not have an MRI-compatible transport ventilator, meaning critically ill patients must either have their scans delayed or be manually ventilated during transport—both of which can pose risks to their safety and comfort. Manual ventilation increases the chance of complications, while delays in imaging can postpone vital diagnoses and treatments.
With your support, we can change that. By adding an MRI-safe transport ventilator, we can ensure that patients of all ages—whether newborns, trauma victims, or those battling severe illness—receive continuous, life-saving respiratory support wherever they need to go within our facility. This advanced ventilator will provide seamless, uninterrupted care, reducing risks and improving outcomes for our most vulnerable patients.
Your generosity can make a life-saving difference. Together, we can ensure every patient receives the safest, most advanced care possible—when it matters most.
Giving Newborns the Healthiest Start
Every baby deserves the best possible start in life, and at Central Peninsula Hospital, we are dedicated to providing the highest level of care for newborns and their families. One essential part of that care is monitoring jaundice, a common condition in the first days of life that requires close attention.
To enhance newborn care, we are raising funds for two Transcutaneous Bilirubin (TcB) Meters—one for Kenai Family Practice and one for Soldotna Family Practice. These handheld, non-invasive devices allow doctors to quickly and painlessly check a newborn’s bilirubin levels using light instead of a traditional blood draw. By eliminating the need for a hospital visit, these meters reduce stress for parents and discomfort for babies while ensuring early detection and treatment.
Equipping our family practices with this technology means fewer unnecessary blood tests, faster results, and better outcomes for newborns. To maintain their accuracy and reliability, we must also invest in essential service agreements and warranties.
With your support, we can provide newborns and their families with the very best care—right from the start.
