Dr. James finished at the top of her class and earned her medical degree from Sanford School of Medicine in South Dakota. She completed her Internal Medicine residency and also served as Chief Resident of Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Following her residency, Dr. James completed a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the same medical center. She also received a Fulbright graduate fellowship and studied at the University at Bayreuth in Bayreuth, Germany. Dr. James and her husband have two children. They enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, fishing and skiing.
