About

Bio

Gail Pokorney is a board-certified general internist. While in residency, she did a rotation with the Indian Health Service in Gallup, New Mexico, which sparked her interest in rural medicine. She first heard about Central Peninsula Internal Medicine as a medical student and jumped when Dr. Bramante’s sabbatical offered her the opportunity to join the team. She enjoys managing complex medical problems and forging meaningful relationships with her patients. Specific professional interests include women’s health, anticoagulation, diabetes management, hepatitis C treatment, and clinical teaching. She works closely with the University of Washington medical students and is an active member of the Society of General Internal Medicine and the American College of Physicians. Outside of the office, Dr. Pokorney enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, playing the violin in the Redoubt Chamber Orchestra, and reading literature with her book club (like Dr. Bramante, she was a college English major). She and her husband Rob, whose IT company serves the practice, have developed a strong connection to Alaska, choosing Girdwood as the location for their wedding in the summer of 2015.
