Transforming Patient Care: MyChart – A new electronic health record

Central Peninsula Hosptial is implementing a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, throughout the organization beginning September 10, 2016. The new EHR system, called Epic, will link all hospital departments and specialties; creating a single electronic record of a patient’s medical history. Hospital-wide implementation of this new system will transform the delivery of patient care; enhancing patient safety, treatment and service. As we make this transition, you may experience delays and extended wait times. We appreciate your patience and encourage you to share any concerns or questions you may have.

Epic provides:

A better electronic medical chart.

Epic creates one electronic health record. This means that no matter where you are seen at Central Peninsula Hospital—whether in the hospital or in one of our CPH physician’s office—your medical care team will have access to your medical history. We deliver comprehensive coordinated care, which requires that all providers have access to patient information. Epic will enable your healthcare team to access test results, office notes, reports and other important information quickly and efficiently.

Epic includes and new patient portal, MyChart. Once you active your new MyChart account you will be able to:

  • Contact your physician with medical questions
  • Pay your bill online
  • Request prescription refills
  • Request appointments
  • View select lab and test results
  • View your medical history including medications, immunizations and allergies

A better patient experience.

Epic will reduce the amount of paperwork that needs to be filled out at each visit because your medical history and registration information will already be available. Additionally, you will receive one itemized bill for each visit, versus multiple bills for different services.
