Welcome to Central Peninsula Hospital Imaging

When the right treatment depends on the right diagnosis, you can count on the Imaging Department at Central Peninsula Hospital to offer a full range of state-of-the-art equipment and expert interpretation for your diagnostic radiology needs including: Bone Densitometry (DEXA), Computed Tomography (CT), Fluoroscopy (Image guided procedures), Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and X-ray. Each modality offers appointment times to meet your needs – including weekends. We also offer expertise in Interventional procedures such as: image-guided biopsies including stereotactic breast biopsies, drainages and injections. In each of our modalities, advanced level registry technologists perform your imaging examination. Technologists with advanced level registry have studied for and passed a rigorous examination that ensures your study is being performed by a qualified professional. Your study is expertly interpreted by our fellowship trained, board certified radiologists with reports and images available electronically for your provider within a few business hours. Your radiologist plays a key role in your health by:

  • Acting as an expert consultant to your referring provider to aid them in choosing the proper imaging examination based on your unique medical history
  • Comparing medical image findings with other examinations and tests you have had
  • Recommending further appropriate examinations or treatments when necessary
  • Directing your technologist in the proper performance of quality exams

When you see the gold seal of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Accreditation prominently displayed in our imaging department you can be sure that we’re a facility that meets the highest level of imaging quality and radiation safety. To achieve the ACR Gold Standard of Accreditation, our facility’s personnel qualifications, equipment requirements, quality assurance and quality control procedures have gone through a rigorous review process to meet specific benchmarks. It’s important for you to know that every aspect of the ACR Accreditation process is overseen by board-certified, expert radiologists and medical physicists in advanced diagnostic imaging. The ACR is the largest and oldest imaging accreditation body in the United States and a professional organization of 34,000 physicians.
