Special Services

CPH offers a variety of special services to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. These special services include the following
Spiritual Care Services
CPH believes that total patient care demands attention to the spiritual, as well as the physical and emotional needs of each patient. Members of the Spiritual Care staff are available to assist you, whatever your beliefs. Volunteer Chaplains are on call 24-hours a day and a beautiful all-faith Sanctuary is located in the Mountain Tower near the elevator.  Your priest, minister or rabbi is always welcome to visit you while you are here. Please contact a member of the nursing staff for assistance or call the Spiritual Care office directly at 714-4610.
Integrative Therapies
The ‘M’ Technique is a patented method of gentle, structured touch developed by a critical care nurse/massage therapist Jane Buckle, PhD, R.N., specifically to reduce stress and anxiety in patients too fragile to receive conventional massage. Each movement and sequence is done a set number of times, in a set pattern, at a set pressure and set speed that never change. Call 714-4500 to schedule a session or to receive a handout.
Therapeutic Suggestion/Guided Imagery:  We provide C.A.R.E. Connect, a web-streaming version of C.A.R.E. Programming that can be viewed on your mobile device.  You may access this service via:  https://www.healinghealth.com/wp/   Type in password:  cpgh2807. There is programing for all ages, and for help with sleep and reducing anxiety.
Mail
Letters and packages for patients are delivered each morning. Letters and parcels that arrive after you have been discharged are forwarded to your home. Stamps may be purchased at the front desk and stationary is available in the Care Package gift shop. Outgoing mail may be left at the nurses’ station or given to a volunteer.
Flowers & Gifts
Flowers & Gifts: Flowers, mylar balloons and gifts are available for purchase through several local florists who provide delivery service to the hospital. Keep in mind that large plants and flowers are difficult to deliver and remove upon discharge. Certain flowers – especially stargazer lilies are not allowed because they may cause respiratory problems or allergic reactions for our patients and staff. Latex balloons are not allowed in the hospital.

Newspapers
Newspapers may be purchased at the entrance to the hospital. A limited number of complimentary papers are delivered each morning to the nurses’ station.

Notary Public
The services of a notary are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. free of charge to patients. For information call Human Resources at ext. 4772 or dial 0 for the operator.

For the Hearing Impaired
A telecommunications device is available to help hearing-impaired patients or patients who want to communicate with a hearing-impaired relative or friend. Contact the Inpatient Nurse Director or the House Supervisor for this service. Arrangements can also be made for sign language help for a hearing impaired or deaf patient.
