Our Purpose:
A nurse residency program is designed to support new nursing graduates in their transition to professional practice, enhancing their skills, confidence, and job satisfaction while improving patient care outcomes.”
- Transition Support- the program is structured to support adapting to the complexities of patient care

Program Structure:
- Monthly education days
- Full-time clinical preceptorship
- Regular meetings with unit leadership

- Do new nurses need to have passed their NCLEX before starting: Yes
- Do you have to have your AK RN Licensure for the program? Yes
- Can you have a temporary licensure and do the program? No
- Can you work in other areas of the hospital after the program is done? Only if a position is posted for other departments and you are selected for it. Most start in Med Surg.
- Do you automatically have to work nights after you have completed the program? No. If there is a day position you can apply for a day position.
