Central Peninsula Diabetes Center, a dedicated facility providing comprehensive diabetes care and education to our community, opened October 23rd, 2023 and is accepting new patients! This milestone reflects Central Peninsula Hospital’s commitment to addressing the healthcare needs of our community, as identified in the 2022 CPH community needs assessment.

Meet our team.

Anna Boutwell, APRN

Anna is a highly skilled and compassionate nurse practitioner with 14 years of experience in diabetes management. Anna is committed to working collaboratively with primary care providers and endocrinologists through a referral‐based and team‐oriented approach. The Nurse Practitioner role is being used at diabetes centers of excellence across the nation to incorporate a team based focus to meet the health needs unique to people living with diabetes. Such collaboration ensures patients receive personalized, timely and effective care. Professionally Anna’s greatest joy comes from seeing her patients achieve their goals and feel empowered to take charge of their health. Personally she enjoys the many adventures the Kenai Peninsula has to offer, as well as the arts, music, and great audio books.

Crystal Allen, MPH, RN

Whether you or a loved one has prediabetes, Type 1, Type 2, gestational diabetes, or diabetes of another form, the center offers diabetes education appointments with Crystal Allen, MPH, RN. Crystal is a lifelong Alaskan and has been a registered nurse for over 19 years. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Science from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a Master’s with emphasis in Global, Public and Community Health from Liberty University in 2021. As a mother of 2 teens who have Type 1, Crystal recognizes the daily challenges of life with diabetes, and works toward empowering individuals and families with the knowledge and skills to thrive amidst a difficult diagnosis. Crystal and her husband enjoy skiing, good coffee, and attending their son’s sports and musical events.
