Central Peninsula Hospital Receives Quality Achievement Award from Mountain-Pacific Quality Health - Archived
Mountain Pacific Quality Health announced the winners of the 2011 Hospital Quality Awards today. This is the tenth year running for these awards, which recognize Alaska hospitals for their dedication to ensuring that patients receive high quality care in the areas of heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical infection prevention.

Central Peninsula Hospital won the Quality Achievement Award, which is the top award.

Central Peninsula Hospital’s award was based on continuing to demonstrate outstanding clinical quality and administrative excellence. A few things that were highlighted in the application were sharing patient and family stories in the boardroom, participating in a robust hand hygiene program, signing the national Partnership for Patients pledge, and being featured on Hospital Compare, along with describing a performance improvement activity and implementing an employee immunization program.

“Mountain-Pacific staff has thoroughly enjoyed working with Central Peninsula’s CEO Ryan Smith and his team of capable and talented staff. His vision, leadership and enthusiasm are indicative of his commitment to excellence in health care,” says Sharon Scudder, director of Mountain-Pacific’s Alaska office.

Mountain-Pacific is the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Montana, Wyoming, Hawaii and Alaska and works under contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to promote proven best practices and transform the way health care is delivered.
