Soldotna, AK– The Director of Peri-Operative Surgical Services position at Central Peninsula Hospital (CPH) was filled by Orville (O.J.) Johnson, RN, late this fall.
Johnson has more than 31 years of experience in nursing. He was employed as the Director of Perioperative Services at Alaska Regional Hospital for eight years and as an Operating Room Supervisor in facilities in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Missouri and Palmer, Alaska.
Mr. Johnson attended the Mid Western Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Wayland Baptist University, Hawaii Campus in Honolulu, Hawaii with a BS in Occupational Education. He double majored in Nursing and Christian Studies and minored in Classical Voice.
“O.J. is working diligently to improve processes and address physician and staff satisfaction in the surgical department,” noted Rick Davis, CEO for CPH.
“He brings new skills and expertise to the OR and we are very pleased to have him join our team”, he added.
When not overseeing several state-of-the-art operating rooms, Johnson enjoys exploring outdoors with Shelley, his wife of 25 years, on their twin CanAm ATV’s. He has taken up learning to play the guitar this year and continues working on his boat that he hopes to get in the water this summer.
