Renovation of the old part of the Central Peninsula Hospital, now
known as the River Pavilion, begins February 1st
and, in preparation, the two main entrances will be closed January
26th. Patients and visitors will now need to enter the
hospital through the Mountain Tower entrance, the Emergency
Department entrance or the River Pavilion entrance near the gift
shop at the east end of the hospital.
“Phase III of our renovation project will be starting February 1st,”
says Rich Davidson, CPH Support Services Director, “and that means
the old entrances will have to be closed. The area where the fish
tank, the reception desk and Admitting have always been, as well as
the curved driveway, will be part of the new dining area so the
entrances in that area will have to be closed during the
transformation.”
Any of the other three entrances may be used, but those arriving as
non-emergency patients or visitors are encouraged to use the
Mountain Tower entrance. Through this entrance, there is access to
reception, a volunteer information desk, a temporary Admissions
area and all patient rooms.
Phase III renovation work on the lobby, dining area, Admissions and
the gift shop should be complete by fall of this year. Renovation
of the Emergency Department should be complete in the spring of
2008.
