Two People Win Lifeguard Helicopter Rides

One local resident and one hospital employee won flights on Lifeguard Alaska’s helicopter after entering at Central Peninsula Hospital’s Open House event January 3rd.   Two drawings were held, one for the public and one for employees.
Dennis Swarner was the winner of the public drawing, while Shawnee Wisnewski, RN won the employee drawing.  Each winner, along with one guest, will enjoy a 15 minute helicopter ride over the Soldotna area. The specific area will be up to the winner as long as the flight can be completed in 15 minutes.  The ride will be rescheduled if the helicopter and crew are needed for an emergency medevac.  Each winner will also learn about the specific response capabilities of the CPH Lifeguard Alaska program.
“This is a great opportunity to see the town from the air,” says Teresa Ferguson, Critical Care Director. “Most people who ride in the helicopter are not in a position to enjoy it that much, so this is a chance to get an “up-close” look at what we have to offer in emergency response here at the hospital, and enjoy the beautiful Alaskan scenery.”
