CPGH Hires New Chief Financial Officer

Jason Paret, Chief Financial Officer at Central Peninsula General Hospital began his new job on Friday, July 21.   Paret has more than 13 years of experience in health care and hospital finance.  Prior to accepting his new position with CPGH, he served as the Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer at Mr. San Rafael Hospital in Trinidad, Colorado from June 2004 and served as the Chief Financial Officer at Petersburg Medical Center in Petersburg, Alaska from 1998 to 2004.  Paret gained other healthcare experience with McKesson Health Systems in Tacoma, Washington and Salem Memorial Hospital in Salem, Oregon.

“My family and I are very excited to be back in Alaska,” said Paret.  “I’m looking forward to the completion of the hospital expansion and what that will mean to recruitment and the development of new programs and services for our area residents.”

Paret received his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Alaska this summer.  He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the National Rural Health Association.  He also served as the Vice President of Rotary International in Petersburg from July 2001-2003 and volunteered as a board member for Alaska Public Radio.

“We’re very pleased that Jason has accepted the opportunity to work with us at CPGH and I anticipate making significant progress together,” said Ryan Smith, CEO.
