Description:
The Oncology/Infusion Center at CPGH is available to meet specialty outpatient needs while providing quality care.

"Cancer Care -- Close To Home"
   

Staff
Medical Staff Director, William Kelley, M.D.
Our center is coordinated by a nationally certified Oncology nurse and complemented by nursing staff who are certified in chemotherapy. Our social services staff are available to assist patients with their financial needs.

Services

Services are individualized to meet the specific needs of each patient and family. Patients may receive treatment in their own community with the benefit of support from family and friends.
 

Treatments offered:
Chemotherapy
Blood transfusions
Platelet transfusions
Biological Response Modifiers
Injections, including Neupogen, Epogen, and Neumega
IV Antibiotics
Hydration & electrolyte replacement
Dressing changes
Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) placement
Care of long term central catheters i.e.: PICC’s Groshongs, Ports
Referrals to the American Cancer Society

Hours

The Oncology/Infusion Center is open from 8:00 am until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Other hours are by appointment. Special attempts are made to meet individual patient needs.

Facilities
Our center provides care in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Patients are able to receive treatment in a comfortable, more "social", multi-patient area or relax in a private room. Our rooms are furnished with recliners. While in the Center, patients can enjoy books on tape, music, or videos.

Location
The Oncology/Infusion Center is located in the North Annex of CPGH. This location provides a quiet and private atmosphere.
 
Educational Services
Community educational programs on treatment and prevention. Speakers can be provided.
A large library of reading materials and educational videos relating to cancer, treatment and prevention.
Oncology nurses are available to answer questions and help direct patients to other resources.
Education and assistance in dealing with cancer pain for patients and families.

Support Group

The cancer support group is sponsored by the Oncology/Infusion Center. This group is open to cancer patients, families, and others who care about them. It meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7pm.
