Facilities Expansion
Growing to meet
your needs
During 2005, CPGH continued
work on our expansion project that will bring significant change and
substantial future benefit to our community. The first phase of the
expansion was completed last spring. The two-story, second phase is
underway and due for completion in early fall 2006. The new
addition will house all of our private medical/surgical beds, an
expanded Intensive Care Unit, enhanced isolation suites, new
surgical & recovery facilities, a new outpatient surgery center, a
new larger laboratory, a larger pharmacy, and an expanded
cardio-pulmonary/sleep lab therapy area, all incorporating our
Planetree philosophy of care.

Hospital Expansion

The 3rd phase, still in the design stage, is scheduled to
include an expanded Emergency Department, a dedicated C-section
room, a better dining and patient food services area, an expanded
and more private admitting area, a remodeled imaging department and
an area where visiting physicians can hold clinics. With an
architectural design that provides privacy and a healing
environment, we continue on our journey of becoming a destination
hospital, serving residents from all across the Kenai Peninsula.
Our expansion and our focus on Planetree values are just a few of
the ways Central Peninsula General Hospital is striving for
excellence.
Please continue to
visit this site and see our expansion progress, as we move through
the process of growing to meet the health care needs of our
community.
Since 1998 the CPGH, Inc. Board of Directors has
commissioned numerous studies and reports to assist the Board in
making plans for the future of health care on the Kenai Peninsula.
This section consolidates the data taken from those
important studies. Its aim is to answer questions that the public
had regarding a hospital expansion.
We understand the importance of this project to the
community and strive to involve the public in the process through
this web site and community meetings to discuss and solicit public
input and to inform the public on key decisions and plans.
