As
the lessor and operator of Central Peninsula General Hospital
(CPGH), a borough owned community hospital, the CPGH, Inc. Board
of Directors has the following
responsibilities:

| 1. |
Establishes long-term direction for CPGH through
participation in, approval of, and periodic review of its
mission, values, and strategic plan; |
| 2. |
Selects, monitors, advises, evaluates, and compensates the CEO;
|
| 3. |
Promotes financial viability via budget and
financial oversight and monitoring investment management;
|
| 4. |
Monitors and seeks continuous improvement in the
quality of care and services of the organization; |
| 5. |
Monitors the effectiveness of significant organizational
programs and takes action where appropriate to improve, modify,
or eliminate such programs as necessary to maintain
organizational excellence; |
| 6. |
Oversees and promotes positive relationships with
the medical staff, and takes action on hospital privileges for
physicians and allied health professionals; |
| 7. |
Promotes and maintains positive external relationships with the
community, local business, government, funding sources and other
health-related organizations; |
| 8. |
Assures that the hospital meets regulatory,
accreditation, and
legal requirements; |
| 9. |
Oversees effective governance, including trustee recruitment,
selection, and orientation; board education and self-evaluation;
and, effective function and structure; |
| 10. |
Acts with the highest integrity to promote
hospital-based health care that meets the needs of the
community; |
| 11. |
Represents the community; |
| 12. |
Sets corporate policies and guidelines within the framework of
the Lease and Operating Agreement with the Kenai Peninsula
Borough and applicable statutes and regulations. |
